Aqua training - info
Aquatraining is a highly effective movement training for sport and leisure horses. This type of training makes a valuable contribution to healing a wide variety of injuries. The cold water and the massage promotes blood circulation, activates the metabolism and thus improves healing. On the one hand, the buoyancy of the water puts less strain on the joints, ligaments and tendons. On the other hand, increased effort is required due to the water resistance. The musculature of the hindquarters and the back are strengthened, muscle development is improved. Coordination and fitness are also naturally promoted through movement in the water. In addition, aqua training offers a change from everyday training.
The speed of the treadmill, the water level and the duration of the training can be individually adjusted to each horse.
Since the horses move in a controlled and joint-gentle way in the aqua trainer, this training primarily supports:
-
controlled muscle growth
-
strengthening tendons and ligaments
-
improving coordination and fitness
-
strengthening the back muscles
-
the regeneration
-
the shortening of convalescence times

This is how the back muscles work in the Aquatrainer
Due to the resistance of the water, muscle groups are increasingly stressed and thus built up. A well-trained muscular system relieves the strain on tendons and joints. This method is therefore an ideal training supplement for sport horses. This very gentle method of muscle building is also ideal for training young horses. Aqua training can also be incorporated into the training plan in a targeted manner to prepare for the season. Underperforming horses are motivated to do better.
